MEGA OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
Specializing in the treatment of pediatric chronic pain
Chronic pain can have a considerable impact upon a young person's daily routine, resulting in less participation in self-care, school, sports, leisure, and social activities. Occupational therapists trained in the treatment of pediatric chronic pain can help your child reintegrate into each of these activities and in doing so, improve their quality of life.

Chronic Pain EvaluationsYour therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation within your home environment to gather information about your child's current level of functioning and the areas of their life that are impacted by pain. This will include interviews, questionnaires, and hands-on assessments. Evaluations typically take up to 90 minutes.

Meet Your Therapist! |
Megan Silvia, OTR, OTDMeg (she/her) is a licensed pediatric occupational therapist in the state of Massachusetts and the owner of MEGA Occupational Therapy. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in occupational therapy (OT) at the University of New Hampshire. She then earned her clinical doctorate of occupational therapy (OTD) degree at Boston University. Meg has over a decade of experience working with children and adolescents in both school and hospital settings. Her most recent venture was working on an interdisciplinary treatment team in the Mayo Family Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Center at Boston Children's Hospital. Meg spent more than five years in this program, specializing in the management and treatment of pediatric chronic pain conditions. With so few occupational therapists trained in evidence-based interventions for chronic pain, Meg saw an imperative need to extend her skills to the outpatient setting in order to reach more youth in need of OT services. And because she understands how challenging starting and sticking with pain treatment can be, she thought, why not make it a little easier by offering OT "from the comfort of your own home?" That's how MEGA Occupational Therapy began! In her spare time, Meg likes to spend time outdoors with her family and friends, go to concerts, travel, cook, and spoil her pup, Sophie! |
